Details: Disney collectible artist Dave Avanzino grew up in the Napa Valley and has long been a fan of not just wine, but the beautiful labels on the bottles. For the 2009 Disney's California Food & Wine Festival© Dave has designed a faux wine label featuring an "Old Vine Zinfandel" from the fictitious "Grizzly Peak Vineyards." The artwork was designed in a woodcut style that pays tribute to the Arts and Crafts movement on which parts of the theme park and
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa are based. The artwork features Grizzly Peak, the icon of
Disney's California Adventure® Park against a clear blue sky. Nestled in front of it is a gnarled Zinfandel vine ready for harvest. The original artwork was created by Dave with watercolor and pen and ink and then scanned and incorporated into the label design. Each element has been hand cut by the artist and, after painting the edge of each piece, they are assembled into this dimensional scene. The artwork also features the year it was created and also the festival name. It it framed in a rich bronze shadowbox frame and comes with a Certificate of Verification.
